After she was discharged from the hospital, her mom had called and wanted her to come visit. "Why, mom? I'm tired, sick, and just got out of the hospital," said Lucy. "Just swing by, baby girl. Please. I have a surprise for you!" Lucy hated surprises, and her mother knew that about her. But Lucy went ahead, after all, it was obviously always all about her selfish mother. As she arrived, Lucy noticed many cars surrounding her parents' house. "Oh, God. What the hell did she do!" Lucy thought to herself. As she came in through the back courtyard, nearly all of her old high school friends were there. But most actually weren't her friends. Most she despised. She got bullied almost every day in school, and most of these people were her bullies. Lucy did not appreciate this at all. "Hey, Lucy!" "Hi, Lucy!" "What's going on, Lucy?" Lucy tried to escape into the house as quick as she could. But she couldn't stop avoiding everyone and their mom asking how she was doing and telling her they miss her. Lucy was well ready to do herself in at this point. As she finally got inside, her mom came up to her. "Oh, Lucy. I missed you so mu-" "Mom!" Lucy interrupted. "What the actual f*ck! Do you realize who these people actually are? And do you realize that I literally just got out of the hospital? Oh and another thing, I am sick! To death! Literally! Have you no sympathy!" The entire time, her mom was trying to calm her down. Then she said her sorry and moved in for a hug. "Don't you dare touch me! After all you've done? I, of course, accept your apology. But that does not change what you did. All of these 'friends' you invited? They're just sympathy friends. I haven't heard from them since high school. And when I did, our conversations weren't pleasant and forgivable. They never even apologized! So why the hell would they want to be friends now? Haven't you figured it out yet? They are fake! They only like me now because they pity me. They feel sorry for me. But I will not put up with it!" Lucy yelled, infuriated. "Okay, Lucy. I understand. But before you go, please eat something. The doctor at the hospital said you barely ate anything those five days. "Well, a home cooked meal does sound delightful. And I am starving. And don't feel nauseous for once in a long time. What did you cook?" Lucy suddenly changed her spirits. "Well, I made something healthy, which nobody likes, it appears. I made turkey burgers with flatbread and avocados. With sweet potato fries!" Said her mother, happily, because she knew Lucy loved when she made that very meal. "Ooh, you know me, yes you do!" "Dig in," her mother laughed. Lucy set her table down and started to nibble on her sweet potato fries. Sure enough, an old bully named Dawson came up to her and starting laughing in her face. "Lucy...oh, Lucy," Dawson laughed. "You may have everyone from our shit high school feeling bad for you, but I don't," said Dawson. "Good, Dawson. Thank you. That's what I want from everyone," Lucy said. "Oh my God, Lucy! I can see right through your fake ass! You may be fooling everyone else, but you're not fooling me!" Dawson laughed. "What are you talking about?" Lucy asked. "You don't cancer! Yes, you're sick. But it's not cancer. You're anorexic! And you're stealing all this attention from people who really are dying! You've always been an attention whore," said Dawson. "Oh really? That's funny. Because I can prove it!" As Lucy started to lift up her shirt to show Dawson her tube in her chest, another bully from school stopped her. Her name was Maliny. "Stop, Lucy. I have heard and seen enough! You don't need to prove anything to this bastard!" Yelled Maliny. Let's go talk. I have got a lot to say...starting with sorry.
