The officer in charge of the check got out of the police car and confidently told me: "Yes, it is him. Definitely. It is confirmed that it is Sam. The name is correct." Then he gave me the name and address of the hospital and asked me to tell my wife not to worry, go to the hospital to see him. At this moment, I really want to hug the police. But I can't, because they are on duty, fully armed, and now is the time of the Covid pandemic, we should maintain social distancing. But the two officers and I banged our fists to express our happiness of finding Sam. Then I asked my wife to go home. We didn't wait a moment and drove to the hospital. At the hospital, we were told that he was fine, was undergoing medical and physical examination, and was waiting for the blood test results. But we were not allowed to see him because it was already midnight and the nurse told us that someone was talking to him and would stay with him all night. She took our phone number and told us that Sam was not injured, don't worry, go home now. The hospital will call us. A sleepless night for my wife. I fell asleep after 4 in the morning. My wife received a call from the hospital around 7 am the next morning. They told her that she could pick up her son at around 10 in the morning. After receiving this call, I can see the obvious relief and satisfaction on a mother's face. After a sleepless night, she suddenly became 10 years younger. She got up and started cleaning Sam's room and his bathroom, which was a mess. At around 9 in the morning, she received another call from the hospital. The other end of the call was Sam himself. He told his mother that she could pick him up and go home now. I decided not to go with my wife because I caused all these turmoil. I don't want to show up at this time to annoy Sam. I went to work early, just for the purpose that Sam wouldn't see me when he got home. I believe that my appearance will become an unnecessary annoyance. But I checked my cell phone surveillance and it has video recordings from home security cameras. I am obviously happy to see my wife doing some gardening in the backyard. It looks everything is back to normal, a lovely sunny say. Rewinding and going back for more, I saw the footage when they first arrived in the driveway of our home. I saw my son limping out of his mother's car, barely able to stand, then dragged a few steps with difficulty, entered the house, and walked out of the camera's field of view. I couldn't help it all at once, and began to blame myself in tears. When he ran out of the house, he was alive, active and screaming, and now he limped and dragged himself home. he is hurt. Later we learned that he walked aimlessly barefoot for several hours in the cold night, more than 10 miles, before being picked up by the police and ambulance. He just wanted to run away from home, but he didn't know what his destination was. He walked on the busy highway, on the grassy road, in the bushes, and on the gravel road, with one leg in front of the other. After walking for about three hours, his feet bleed from multiple cuts. At the magical moment, rescue came. The police and ambulance drove him to the emergency room of the hospital. As soon as they arrived, they gave him a medical-grade mask for him to wear. After entering the emergency room, two nurses carefully wiped his bleeding feet clean with disinfectant, and gave him socks to put on. Dinner was served, too. They saw that he was emotional, and they invited a social worker and a psychologist to talk to him to understand his problems and why he was angry. They took his blood for examination. Then they gave him a blanket for him to rest. All test results are normal. He eventually calmed down. Then the hospital allowed him to go home. I want to say that the police, ambulances, and hospital staff are all angels sent by God to save and help him. Without these angels, I cannot imagine what would happen to my son. In late autumn, the night was dark and cold, and he was barefoot bleeding with not much clothes. He was in a place not far from the sea. Long Island is surrounded by the sea, and an ambulance picked him up near the sea late at night.
